It was a great time for Acura NSX fans seeing the prototype of Acura NSX lapping the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course today. Honda Acura had already mentioned that they will be bringing out the prototype vehicle at the event before they introduce the car at the Honda Indy 200. Acura revealed that they are working on the new NSX supercar and that they will introduce that in the market in 2015 but they would certainly like to keep going ahead with the development that can allow them to achieve their goal of launching better supercars in the future.
Acura also said that they wanted to keep their fans updated about the research and development of the new NSX supercar and therefore they have decided to bring out the prototype NSX at the event before the prototype laps at the Honda Indy 200. The automaker said that they really feel proud that their fans are happy with the way the development of this supercar has been going on and the event today also indicates that the car is being developed in the right way that will help them to plan the 2015 launch on time.
The new NSX prototype lapped 2.4 miles of the race course without any inconvenience and was driven by Ohio based engineering development team. The prototype car also sported custom graphics keeping in mind that the new prototype is intended for racing. Acura also revealed that they are focusing on mid-mounted direct injected V6 engine that is mated with Sport Hybrid All Wheel Drive system. The supercar will also have Dual Clutch Transmission that offers better performance compared to conventional all wheel drive systems. Currently, the research and development of Acura NSX prototype is led by engineers at Honda R&D Americas Inc and the sports car will be produced in the United States by 2015.
