Privacy Auto Glass on Cinderella’s New Carriage by Maybach

The luxury automotive manufacturer, Maybach, has just submitted its entry for the 2011 LA Auto Show Design Challenge, putting forth a recreation of the classic Berline carriage into an updated version of Cinderella’s enchanted pumpkin.  Among other things, the Maybach Berline is going to be fitted with oversized moulded auto glass panels for the gull-wing doors, a virtual chauffeur centre, and retractable stairs: Cinderella’s ideal fairytale experience, in other words.

The first thing that pops into your head when you see the Maybach Berline is simply awe.  The whole thing is gorgeous, and with the huge auto glass doors, looks like something that has popped straight out of a futuristic film.  This is in keeping with the theme of the contest: the LA Auto Show Design Challenge is basically a competition for various automakers to see which one can design the next “dream car” for Hollywood.

The Berline is in good standing in the competition.  Equipped with only the most luxurious amenities and provided with a teleoperation system that saves occupants of the car from having to deal with the (often intrusive) presence of a driver, the car is perfect for several dozen movie plots that are all takeoffs on the original Cinderella story.  Auto enthusiasts, especially those who loved the Mercedes-Benz GL Class, should also find another type of perfection in the car’s lines, as its futuristic look is not without references to some of the most popular cars of old.

The interiors are particularly attractive in the Maybach Berline.  One can practically envision all types of film sequences playing out in it due to the tête-à-tête positions of occupants—a return to the old horse-drawn carriages back in the day.

The Berline is going to be in stiff competition, though: also participating in the event are Mercedes-Benz, Subaru, Hyundai, and Honda.  Mercedes-Benz, which collaborated with Maybach in the creation of the Berline, is actually putting forth two entries from two separate branches, one from N. America and Germany.  The former is going to be fielding the Mercedes Silver Arrow, the latter the Smart 341 Parkour.  Subaru is going to be submitting the Subaru Horizon, designed by its team in Tokyo.  Hyundai is submitting the Stratus Sprinter, a car conceptualised for a vampire movie, and Honda is submitting the Honda Intelligent Horse, a futuristic concept car with striking lines and unusual wheels.

The concept cars all feature some sort of tweak or new technology, whether it is in the type of auto glass used or the very functionalities of the vehicle.  The winner of the LA Auto Show Design Challenge this year is going to be announced on the 17th of this month, and car enthusiasts (as well as film-lovers) are already speculating heavily on which vehicle design shall take the prize.

How to Get a Collision Repair Estimate

Getting into an accident and trying to find a company that does reliable auto body work can be a stressful time for everybody. Obtaining a collision repair estimate is the first step in getting your car repaired. How and where you get the estimate depends on many factors including what your insurance policy accepts or dictates. There are, however, some basic steps that are common to every policy.

The first step is to talk to your insurance company because they may have experts specially designated to give a collision repair estimate to clients, or it may have a list of approved repair shops you can contact. You need to find out what your insurance company’s policy is, before thinking about getting a better or cheaper repair estimate on your own.

Secondly, obtain a list of approved repair shops if your company has one, and contact several of them to get different collision repair estimates. You can then decide which one is better or more appropriate, or simply choose the shop that you find most convenient or affordable.

The repair shop you decide to choose should then inform you on what or will not be covered under the collision repair agreement. Most insurance companies will not pay for certain repairs, such as removing fuel, wheeling alignment, belt adjustment or replacing nameplates. When getting a collision repair estimate, ask the repair shop to exclude those items from the receipt.

If you are unsure, ask the collision shop for the repair estimate that includes extras or incidentals that may come up during inspection of the vehicle.  To avoid having to ask for more money late, ask for a higher price in the beginning and have to numbers adjusted accordingly afterwards.

Before the collision shop gets started on any repairs, have the estimated approved by your insurance company because this is essential to being reimbursed for the work.

To receive a basic collision repair estimate online, fill out some information including the year, make, model, and color of your vehicle.  Make sure you include the type of damages your vehicle sustained.  The online form is not meant to give you an exact number, but it is an easy way to get a general idea of what to expect in regards to the expenses.

If there is anything you do not understand or want more information regarding collision repair estimates, Grand Sport Auto Body is here to help.  Their eight locations in Chester County, Montgomery County, and West Chester, Pa., are the best in the business when it comes to estimates.

Means Testing And Credit Counseling In Bankruptcy Proceedings

Means Testing And Credit Counseling In Bankruptcy Proceedings

Are you contemplating filing for bankruptcy in the state of Arizona? Then try to think a few essential things over first. Filing for bankruptcy shouldn’t be done haphazardly. It’s something that requires serious thought and planning as well. Usually, a person who is suffering severe and almost irreversible financial difficulties is one who should properly contemplate bankruptcy proceedings. But if you still have enough assets to cover your debts, then there may still be other better options for you to consider. That’s why it’s highly recommended that you should talk things out with a licensed bankruptcy lawyer in the state before actually going for it.

An experienced bankruptcy lawyer in Arizona will most likely require you to first undergo the means test and mandatory credit counseling before he will consider filing your bankruptcy petition. Why is this so? Stemming from the 2005 Reform Laws, these requirements were incorporated to the United States Bankruptcy Code in order to prevent abuses on the system. In the past, filing for bankruptcy was resorted to by more than just a few individuals to just frivolously avoid their financial obligations. This opened the doors to abuse which is why these tests were introduced as amendments to the existing legislation.

Essentially, the means test is for the purpose of evaluating the present income of the person as well as his remaining assets, assuming any are still left. The result of such assessment will determine whether he can file for bankruptcy under Chapter 7 or if he has no choice but to pursue a Chapter 13 bankruptcy instead. A Chapter 7 bankruptcy can only be filed if after undergoing the means test, the individual is found to be with very minimal to no assets left to cover his outstanding debts to his creditors. Your current income will also be calculated and reviewed accordingly to see if it can still be sufficient enough to meet your outstanding financial obligations.

As for the mandatory credit counseling, this lays down several crucial requirements for you to fulfill before you can file your petition. By the very term “mandatory,” failure to meet such requirements would lead to the dismissal of your petition by the bankruptcy courts. These requirements include:

  • Meeting with an approved credit counselor for a 90-minute session within 6 months before filing your bankruptcy petition;
  • Completing money management classes before your debts will be discharged; and
  • Developing a debt repayment schedule in case you’re filing under Chapter 13

Failure to undergo the means test or to fulfill any of the requirements for mandatory credit counseling will most likely lead the courts to dismiss your petition and at times, with prejudice as well. Thus, you have to be very prudent and discuss your bankruptcy plans thoroughly with a bankruptcy attorney in Arizona to make sure that you’re literally doing the right thing. Consult with your bankruptcy attorney today and put your financial burdens to rest for good.

Tire Replacement Experts in Grapevine

Tire ReplacementYour car can only operate at its peak efficiency if every part is working correctly. This includes your tires, which are 4 of the most important parts of your car. Family Tire & Service is an auto repair company in Grapevine that has over 40 years’ experience in the industry. Let our experts handle all of your auto repair needs, including your tire replacements.

Your tires are essential to making your car run. In addition to your brakes, the treads on your tires help your car come to a stop. Treads also keep your car gripping the ground, preventing slippages during wet or icy conditions. If your tires are not working at their peak performance levels, you could be setting yourself and anyone traveling in your car with you up for potentially dangerous situations.

Not sure if your tires need replacing? The “penny test” is one common way that you can check your tires at home for wear and tear. If you can see the top of Abraham Lincoln’s head when you place a penny upside-down in one of the tread grooves of your tires, it’s most likely time for new tires. If your tires fail or are close to failing the penny test, bring them in to the Family Tire & Service auto repair shop for a full inspection.

Family Tire & Service are the experts on tire replacement. We stock several tire brands, including Michelin, Goodyear, Crosswind, Bridgestone, and more, ensuring that no matter your car’s make, model, or specific needs, we’ll have the right tires for you. We proudly serve the city of Grapevine and surrounding areas with quality auto repair jobs and would love to help you make your car safer and more efficient. Call our shop at 817-488-5520 for more information or to schedule a free estimate!

Brake Safety and The Thanksgiving Holiday

Brakes are often taken for granted, until they don’t work so well.  If you’re planning to travel across town or on the freeway, getting your brakes checked and repaired is the best way to stay safe.

We don’t mean to scare you, but look at some of these scary Thanksgiving Holiday driving statistics:

  • Thanksgiving weekend is the most traveled holiday period of the year with almost 90% of those traveling doing so by car and, if previous year statistics hold true, this Thanksgiving weekend will also be the deadliest holiday period of the year.
  • Speeding is the major reason for traffic crashes. Higher speeds reduce the time you have to react to an emergency situation and increase the crash forces in a collision.
  • Tired drivers who worked all day Wednesday are now facing the frustration of being stuck in slow traffic for such a long distance. These tired drivers may be tempted to take chances they might not otherwise take.
  • Drivers leaving late on Sunday who waited until the end of football games before hitting the road often don’t give themselves enough time and rush the drive home.
  • Drivers are usually more tired and have consumed more alcohol during the Thanksgiving holiday.
  • Most of the people injured in auto crashes were not wearing their seatbelts.

So, make sure you get a brake inspection if you’re planning to travel. Robert’s Auto Repair will fully inspect your brakes to help you stay safe and avoid accidents. Call today to schedule a service at our 26,000 square foot facility, located at 234 Ramona Avenue, Monterey, CA 93940.

Fantastic Fall

Labor Day is here! For me that means the end of summer and the beginning of my favorite season, fall.

September brings good things. Happy things. Fall things.

With the first cool, crisp breeze arrives that feeling of anticipation . . . tailgates, pumpkin patches, tricks and treats and a lot of really delicious things to eat. Ok, that’s my attempt at fall poetry. There’s a reason I’m not a poet.

Ok, back to blogging . . . poetry and car dealers don’t mix.

Fall 2012 is sure to be better with some planning, as is anything in life and of course, we all want our fall to be fantastic, don’t we?

So here’s my . . .

5 Ways To Make Fall 2012 Fantastic!

Idea #1: REVEL IN THE LEAVES

Plan a trip to enjoy the leaves. It would be a shame to wake up on a cold winter morning and realize that you didn’t take the time to savor the beautiful fall foliage while it lasted. Plan a day to drive or fly somewhere breathtaking where fall’s bounty is apparent. You won’t regret it. And if you just can’t get away, there is one small thing you can do to enjoy the leaves in another way, JUMP IN A PILE!

Idea #2: FOOTBALL FUN

For some of you, this suggestion is a complete waste of time because you live and die by the football season. If I’m describing you, skip right to the apples. For the rest of you, why not go to a live football game this year? Root for a team, munch on hot dogs, drink a Coke and travel back to a simpler time. Become a cheering fan in a stadium—local homecoming games are an economical way to enjoy football, or travel back to your alma mater to attend a college game. And if watching football is the last thing you feel like doing, why not get in the action yourself? Organize an impromptu game of touch football in your neighborhood. What a great way to get to know your neighbors!

Idea #3: APPLES A PLENTY

Plan a visit to the Apple Orchard. Apple picking is an ideal way to unwind and unplug from today’s hectic schedules and technology overload. Then enjoy the result of your private harvest for weeks after. Can’t you just smell the home-baked apple pie? Or the cider stewing on the stove?

Idea #4: HALLOWEEN HYSTERIA

Why not organize a Halloween get together this year? Make your house the “spot” that everyone wants to stop! Oh no, back to rhyming. Geesh. Halloween is the ideal time to get creative and wow your friends with a unique Halloween costume. If you come up with a plan now, you won’t fall victim to the “last minute I don’t know what to do or what to dress up as” syndrome. Avoid attending the same lame party this year. Make your bash so much fun that people will talk about it for years to come!

Idea #5: Dixie Classic Fair

Attending the Dixie Classic Fair is a Winston Salem tradition that has been around since 1882. Why break this tradition of family-fun now? Gather the family and head to the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds to enjoy the day riding rides, eating lots of unhealthy food and visiting the petting zoo.

Now that you have a plan to make this fall fantastic, you can enjoy this last weekend of summer!!!

Are There Blind Spots In San Diego California?

Everyone in San Diego California has blind spots – and no, I’m not talking about the fact that you really don’t sing like Jessica Simpson. I mean the areas of the road that you can’t see when you’re driving around San Diego.

First let’s talk about our own blinds spots, and then we can talk about others…

To begin, we can greatly reduce our blind spots by properly adjusting our mirrors to give the widest coverage possible. Make the adjustments in your Nissan Z before you start to drive.

First, adjust your rear view mirror to give the best possible view directly to the rear of your car. You don’t need it to get a better view of either side of the car, the kids in the back seat or your dazzling smile. The rear view mirror should look to the rear.

Next, lean your head until it almost touches the driver’s side window. Adjust your side mirror so that you can just barely see the side of your car.

Aero Auto Repair
We’re on 9756 Aero Drive in San Diego, California (92123)
Call us to make an appointment at 858-309-4274.

Now, lean your head to the middle of the car and adjust the outside mirror so that you can barely see the right side of the car.

With your mirrors adjusted this way, you’ll have maximum coverage. Of course driving is a dynamic process – things change every second. So it’s wise to take a quick look to the side when passing to make sure that another vehicle hasn’t moved into an area you couldn’t see in your mirrors.

Depending on the kind of vehicle you drive (Nissan Z?), you may still have some blind spots. All vehicles have an area behind them that’s blind when backing up. The bigger the vehicle, the bigger the blind spot. A pick up or SUV can hide a small child – an RV, bus or tractor-trailer can hide an entire vehicle. So be careful around our San Diego streets!

As you drive around the San Diego area, avoid staying in other diver’s blind spots. You can’t count on them to be watching their mirrors and looking out for you.

Let’s talk about safely sharing the road with heavy trucks and buses. In crashes involving a truck and car, the car causes about 40 percent of the accidents. But 78 percent of the fatalities are with the car. The laws of physics are against the smaller vehicle, so it pays to take extra precautions around trucks and buses.

Heavy vehicles have huge blind spots: to the rear, on both sides and up front. They also can’t maneuver like a car. They take twice as long to stop and need twice as much space as you do in your Nissan Z or other type of car. You need to keep wide margins when driving around one of these big rigs.

Here are some tips for passing a heavy vehicle in the San Diego area:

  • Avoid the blind spots. If you can’t see the driver’s face in one of his mirrors or in a window, he cannot see you!
  • Don’t follow too close. If you can’t see one of the truck’s mirrors, you’re too close.
  • Make sure there is plenty of room to pass. Trucks are long and take time to get around. If you’re on one of our local San Diego California two way highways, wait for a passing zone.
  • Don’t linger when passing. Because the blind spots are so big on the sides, you want to get through them quickly. If you can’t pass quickly, drop back.
  • Pass on the left whenever possible. A trucks’ blind spot is much larger on the right.
  • Be attentive and wear your seat belts while driving anywhere around San Diego, even short drives.
  • Don’t be aggressive when driving around trucks. Because of their size, they appear to be going slower than they really are. Cutting it short around a truck could be disastrous.
  • Use your turn signals when starting to pass. Once you can see the full truck in your rear view mirror, it’s safe to signal and move over. Don’t cut it short or slow quickly when you pull in front of a truck.
  • Be careful passing a truck at an intersection. Trucks need to turn wide to maneuver through city streets. Squeezing between a truck and the curb could put your car in the San Diego body shop. Look for the truck’s turn signals.

We at Aero Auto Repair want you to watch those blind spots – but feel free to sing in the shower all you want.

Exhaust System: Making an Impression with your Muffler?

If your vehicle is an extension of you, and you want to make an impression on the road with your muffler, then beefing up the performance of your vehicle by upgrading your exhaust system is one of the easiest ways to accomplish that.

The key system in relation to the overall performance of a vehicle is the exhaust system. This system is made up of tubing designed to expel exhaust gases away from the controlled combustion taking place inside the engine. This system also initiates the removal of waste gases to streamline horsepower, gas mileage and the overall efficiency of your car or truck. The original muffler and exhaust system of a vehicle was intentionally manufactured to limit this process. Their primary intent is to stifle the noise created by your engine, which then of course, also reduces its efficiency. The production of after-market mufflers and performance exhaust systems can be purchased and installed for drivers who “want a little more!”

Tire Service: How to Keep your Tires Rolling Along!

Do know what’s an important part of good tire service? You got it; checking the air pressure! The original air pressure recommended by the automobile manufacturer is required to be listed in the owner’s manual. If the level of inflation has consistently varied from the manufacturer’s recommendation, it's likely that the wear and tear of your tires has accelerated, shortening the life expectancy of your tires! It may be time for a tire repair to keep your tires rolling smoothly and safely down the road.

Need a Brake Replacement? Here are the Symptoms!

You probably take it for granted that your vehicle will stop every time you step on the brakes. Most drivers do not give much thought to the condition of their vehicle’s stopping performance until they notice a problem. Brakes perform their job hundreds of times each week stopping your vehicle. But for how long will they continue to be reliable at this demanding pace?

Maintaining Your Older Car In Wilmington North Carolina

The government mandates a lot of equipment on cars in Wilmington North Carolina: emission devices and control computers, safety equipment like airbags and crash worthiness requirements. All of this is great for the Wilmington North Carolina motoring public, but it does add quite a bit to the price of a new car.

Because new cars are more expensive, people in the Wilmington area are driving their old cars longer. The average car is now over nine years old. Two thirds of vehicles on the road in Wilmington have more than 75,000 miles. As cars age, their performance drops, they have difficulty idling for long periods and are more sensitive to weather extremes. Fortunately today’s cars are up to the challenge – but they need a little help to keep on goin’.

Give Atlantic Car Care a call to schedule your next maintenance.
21 New Bern Street
Wilmington, North Carolina 28403

Some owner’s manuals don’t specify service requirements at higher mileage. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have to be done. In fact, it’s more important than ever to stay on top of routine maintenance for cars with more than 75,000 miles.

First, just extend regular service intervals out: for instance a service that’s recommended every 15,000 miles should be performed at 15,000, 30,000, 45,000 and 60,000 miles, and so on. Because of the additional stress older engines experience, the severe service maintenance schedule is more appropriate than the regular schedule – ask your service advisor. Watch for leaks – seals and gaskets dry out over time and don’t hold the fluids as well as they used to.

It’s also time to make sure you have a good Wilmington North Carolina technician. There are some services and replacements that are scheduled after you put on some clicks, like timing belts, valve train adjustments, suspension, anti-lock brake service, air bags, etc. And unexpected repairs down the road are just par for the course. Check for unusual sounds, smells or the way your car feels. These could be hints that trouble’s brewing. Better to catch it early before it turns into a costly repair.

And a regular wash and wax will help maintain your car’s appearance. One of the things you can do to really help your high mileage vehicle is to begin using high mileage formulation fluids. There are special engine oils, coolants, and transmission and power steering fluids that are formulated for cars that have a few clicks on the old odometer.

High mileage oil is designed to condition seals and gaskets, reduce wear and avoid premature burn off. Older engines are dirtier inside – and dirty engines contaminate their oil faster. High mileage oil has special additives that clean the engine, removing sludge deposits over time. The result is less stress on the engine, better fuel economy and excellent wear protection.

Studies have even shown that using high mileage fluids early will actually prevent some of the problems of high mileage vehicles. So once you hit around 50,000 miles, consider stepping up to high mileage formulations. High mileage fluids cost a bit more than standard fluids because of the additional additives, but they can be worth their weight in gold in terms of preventing repair costs down the road. It does cost more to properly maintain a higher mileage vehicle – but it’s way cheaper than a new car payment!

Oil Changes from Family Tire and Service in Grapevine, TX

One of the most common methods of maintenance for your vehicle will be an oil change. This everyday means of making sure your automobile is operating effectively is one of the most important ways to keep your engine at peak performance levels. Oil changes rely on the efficiency of an expert automobile repair shop, and with the full-service Grapevine TX auto repair from Family Tire and Service, we provide just that.

When it comes to your automobile, it is believed that its oil should be changed every 3,000 miles, or three months. Obviously, for those with longer commutes or travel more frequently, 3,000 miles may not take three months, which is why there are two barometers for which to measure by. Oil can lose its greasing tendency over time, making for harmful consequences to your engine’s health and requiring an essential oil change. The oil can chemically break down over time, requiring replacement. Without replacing your oil, you are putting your engine in harm’s way and potentially damaging your vehicle’s transmission. One can easily check the oil levels through the dipstick located under the front hood. First, make sure your car is parked on level ground. Allow the oil to settle for a few minutes, then gently pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean with a cloth. Reinsert the dipstick and pull it out again. The oil reading on the end of the stick will tell you how much oil your vehicle currently has. If the reading looks low, it is time for an essential oil change.

Our Grapevine auto repair shop proudly provides service to the following cities: Colleyville, Coppell, Dallas, Flower Mound, Grapevine, Irving, Keller, North Richland Hills, Roanoke, Southlake, Trophy Club, and Westlake.

For additional information regarding oil changes in Grapevine and the surrounding area, Family Tire and Service is here to help. To schedule an appointment, contact us online, give us a call at 817-488-5520, or simply swing by our Grapevine auto repair shop.

Top 10 Green Cars of the Year 2012

With the growing emphasis on climate change and environment preservation, automobile companies are increasingly focusing on green energy solutions. Environment-conscious consumers may be interested in the variety that is coming forth in green cars and this year has quite a few interesting models to offer. Here is a look at the top green cars of the year 2012.

1. Kia Rio

Kia Rio is just the perfect mix of economy and environment-friendliness. Kia Rio features diesel, electric and hybrid varieties and with the capacity of 88 MPG fuel efficiency, it is one of the most efficient and environment friendly cars around for a reasonable price. Kia Rio offers one of the most well optimized diesel engines for efficient performance and low carbon emission rate of 85 g/km. The modern, compact design makes it a great choice for the consumers.

2. Fisker Karma

Want to wake up the inner James Bond in you, but in a green way? Then probably nothing would serve you better than Fisker Karma and there are good reasons why. Fisker Karma is a sexy design that delivers remarkable performance for its green mechanism. Fisker Karma is a hybrid electric car that is capable of achieving 100 MPG on a 403 HP engine. Fisker Karma is a four door design and makes you reconsider your thoughts about.

3. Lexus GS 450h

Lexus GS 450h is a rear-wheel drive luxury sports saloon with hybrid petrol and electric engine and a breathtaking design. Lexus GS 450 is the best choice if you love the thrills without hurting the environment too much, as its 363 HP engine can speed up to 60 mph in under 6 seconds. Though such speed takes a 3.5 l V6 petrol engine, it only costs carbon emissions of 145 g/km.

4. Toyota Prius

Toyota Prius is a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid high performance vehicle with a terrific design. Thoroughly rich in style and aesthetics, Toyota Prius features a 1.8 liter petrol engine that delivers a fuel efficiency of 134 MPG. With that performance, Prius only emits 49 g/km CO2 and is not hard on the environment at all. The ground breaking technology of merging the petrol engine with a battery and electric motor is what makes the excellent performance of Toyota Prius possible.

5. Ford Focus ECOnetic Technology

Ford Focus is not a hybrid car and works with a fuel economy of 83.1 MPG. For a car that runs on diesel, this is not bad performance at all along with low carbon emissions of 88 g/km. Focus is a product of Ford’s state-of-the-art ECOnetic technology that is designed to optimize the diesel powered engine and to minimize efficiency leakages. A stylish, four-door sedan, Focus will appeal as much to the aesthetics as it would be good for the environment.

6. Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid

Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid is a diesel-electric hybrid sedan with a lot of room to offer. Volvo V60 delivers remarkable fuel efficiency in 150 MPG with emission rate as low as 49 g/km. The combination petrol engine with an electric motor and battery as used in Toyota Prius makes Volvo V60 deliver such brilliant output.

7. Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4

Peugeot 3008 is the world’s pioneering Diesel-Electric Hybrid vehicle, which has an impressive design that itself looks like a hybrid of SUV and MPV cars. Peugeot 3008 offers reasonably good fuel efficiency in 74 MPG paired with the carbon emission rate of 99 g/km. However, another model emits 104 g/km with the fuel efficiency of 74.3 MPG. The vehicle is a good buy particularly due to its low fuel costs and its four wheel drive capability with the diesel engine powering the front wheels and electric motor fueling the back wheels.

8. Renault Twizy

Probably the most unique of all the top green cars of 2012 is Renault Twizy thanks to its compact model that almost makes it look like a golf cart. Its small size gives it the luxury of being completely reliant on electric power. Weighing 450 kg, Twizy is almost a four wheel electric scooter with two seats. You can’t expect it to perform as well as the hybrids given its size and power, of course, as it only covers a 60 mile distance range with a top speed of 47 mph. Lack of ventilation and poor weather protection due to an open design are a couple of other weak aspects of Renault Twizy. Twizy was released in the European markets in early 2012.

9. Renault Zoe

Renault Zoe is a brand new 5-door electric car model from the French manufacturer. Being completely electric, Renault Zoe is great for the environment and with the range of 210 km, it offers pretty good value as well, at least for urban consumers who need to frequently cover short distances. Speaking of performance, the 65 KW electric motor can propel it to a speed of 60 mph in just a little over 8 seconds and with the top speed of 84 mph. Needless to say that all that is achieved with zero carbon emission. The production version of Renault Zoe was announced in March 2012.

10. 2012 Fiat 500

Compact, stylish and convenient, 2012 Fiat 500 is a green car that promises to deliver a wonderful experience. 2012 Fiat 500 is pretty small and probably not as powerful as many of the other cars in the lineup, but its compact design certainly is rich in terms of style.
