1. All four members of The Beatles owned Mini Cooper vehicles.
2. Beatle member, George Harrison, had a “psychedelic Mini” with a custom flowered paint job. His Mini Cooper appeared in the 1967 film the Magical Mystery Tour.
3. Many Mini Cooper enthusiasts actually object to the MINI vehicles of today because they possess none of the same characteristics as the Mini Coopers of the past except for a similar body design.
4. More than 1 million MINIs have been sold since BMW took over production.
5. In 1999, the Mini Cooper was voted the second most influential car of the 20th century, outranked only by the Ford Model T.
6. In 1961, the Morris Minor Mini became the first British car to sell more than 1,000,000 automobiles.
7. In March 1991, Autocar and Motor Magazine named the Mini Cooper “The greatest car of all time.”
8. The most famous movie featuring the Mini Cooper is The Italian Job. This movie, as well as its remake, feature an intense chase scene with Mini Coopers, making them important to the plot line.
