If you haven’t already done so,now is the time of year to take care of a radiator repair to finish out the hot days of summer without boiling over. To prevent your car from overheating and possibly requiring a radiator replacement, here are two issues to consider:
- What is the coolant/antifreeze ratio? To answer that question, remove the radiator cap (remember to let the engine cool down first), and look inside the radiator. You should be able to physically see the fluid if it is at the proper level. Don’t hesitate to schedule an appointment with a radiator repair technician to have the cooling system pressure tested if you have to add more than a pint or if you see any obvious loss on the ground or in the engine compartment. There could be a leak.
