If you don’t have a powerful car battery sitting in your electricity-dependent automobile, your car becomes a large curb-hogging paperweight. The car battery, which produces voltage to the electrical components of the vehicle, is basically a lead-acid electrochemical storage compartment that acts as an electrical reservoir. Proper care (topping off electrolyte levels with distilled water, making sure terminals aren’t corroded, can extend battery life to as much as five years and prevent a premature car battery replacement. Beware though, harsh climates can cut that figure in half.
